Sally Bischel

SKBischel Watercolors

Sally Bischel earned her BFA from the Philadephia College of Art (now the University of the Arts). After graduation, she free-lanced as an illustrator in New York and Philadelphia and then held art director posts on national and local accounts in the advertising world of Chicago, working on accounts as varied as Abbott Labs, Biz, Mr. Clean, WBBM-TV News, Continental Bank, CNA Insurance, Elkay Manufacturing, and Maremont, a truck products company. The first female art director at two different agencies, Sally later started her own advertising and design company in Evanston.
She and husband Dwight currently operate Greenleaf Graphics, an advertising, marketing and design firm, and Greenleaf Graphics Productions, producing historical videos for individual families and for the Jo Daviess County Historical Society.
Throughout her life, Sally has experimented with watercolors and oils. Over the years she has studied oil painting privately with George Cermak (who was a student of Maurice Vlaminck in France), and in watercolor she has studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and taken workshops with Tom Lynch, Frank Webb, Tony Van Hasselt, and locally with JoAnn Hauser Warren.
