Betty Lou Byrnes
Original Art Doll Santas

As a child, like many other children Santa always fascinated me. As an adult, my love for art led me to create my own vision of that jolly old elf.

I consider each one of my original art dolls a labor of love. That is why I am very selective about the materials I use. I sculpt the face, hands, legs, feet and boots, in prosculpt clay it helps give each Santa the warm natural expression he deserves. I use a wire armature to create each Santa's pose. Over this I make a soft sculpture body. Fine glass eyes add that special twinkle. For the snowy white hair and flowing beards, I choose the softest mohair. Since clothes make the man, I design and sew each Santa's outfit, carefully adding special trims, tiny treasures and toys to compliment the ensemble.

I hope that my Santa's will warm your heart with the pure joy and childlike wonder Christmas morning.
